NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE ENDORSES VIRGINIA FOXX FOR REELECTION

WASHINGTON, D.C. – National Right to Life is pleased to announce its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R) for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 5th congressional district.

“North Carolina is a pro-life state and Virginia Foxx reflects North Carolina’s pro-life values,” said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president. “Virginia Foxx provides a strong voice for the most vulnerable members of our society.”

"Virginia Foxx has been a faithful and articulate supporter of life as a member of Congress,” added Barbara Holt, president of North Carolina Right to Life. “Virginia Foxx is one of the most pro-life women in the U. S. House; pro-lifers must vote to send her back in November to represent North Carolina's 5th District."

During her tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Foxx has been a strong advocate for the pro-life cause, and has maintained a perfect 100 percent pro-life voting record. Foxx has regularly spoken in defense of life on the House floor and has supported pro-life measures that protect mothers and their unborn children.

During the current Congress, Foxx co-sponsored and voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act – groundbreaking legislation to protect unborn children after 20 weeks, when the unborn child can experience great pain during dismemberment or other late abortion techniques.

Rep. Foxx voted repeatedly to block federal funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

She co-sponsored and voted for the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, a bill that would establish a permanent, government-wide policy against funding for abortions or health plans that cover abortions. This policy would apply both to longstanding federal programs and to the new programs created by Obamacare.

Rep. Foxx also voted to repeal the Obama healthcare law – a law that created a national program of massive federal subsidies for insurance plans that cover abortion, and imposes rationing of lifesaving medical care.

“National Right to Life believes that all voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should vote to return Virginia Foxx to Congress, so that she can continue to work to advance vital pro-life public policies,” said Tobias. “Virginia Foxx is a true pro-life leader.”

Involved in every election since Ronald Reagan’s election to the presidency, National Right to Life Political Action Committee (NRL PAC) was formed in 1979 as the political arm of National Right to Life. Founded in 1968, National Right to Life, the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
