Do you remember Data from Star Trek? He was a robot that instantly solved mathematical problems, referenced encyclopedic facts and briefed the USS Enterprise’s crew on alien lifeforms. He was basically Google, before Google was Google.
However, Data had a weakness—he wasn’t human. His character made us laugh because he took everything so literally. Over the years, Google search had similar limitations. While it has become our source for answers to life’s daily questions, it doesn’t always deliver the answers we’re looking for.
To solve this problem, Google introduced voice search, which allows users to ask a question on a mobile phone and get a satisfying answer without clicking out to a website.
Consider a statistic research marketing firm eMarketer, emarketer.com, published earlier this year: more than 35.6 million Americans use voice search monthly. We can deduce that homeowners looking for replacement windows and doors are included in that group.
